Collaboration and exploration, towards your empowerment.

Anam Counsellings therapeutic approach is that no one-size-fits-all, instead, we will collaborate with you to explore various therapeutic techniques and modalities informed by your individual preference. We have a passion for working creatively with clients and specialise in using music (amongst others) as part of the therapy sessions if you have a preference or passion yourself. Or hey, you may just want to try something out or feel a pull towards a creative way of working, this is always welcomed.

At Anam, we prioritize establishing a safe and nurturing environment, grounded in trauma-informed care. Working together to understand the significant effects that past trauma can have on one's daily life.

With compassion at the heart of our approach, we are committed to validating and honoring your experiences. Together, we will navigate the complexities of trauma responses with a cooperative spirit.

Music Therapy

At Anam, we are passionate about incorporating music into therapy, recognizing its transformative power in both the lives of our clients and our staff. If music resonates with you personally or connects with part of your lived experience, we encourage clients to bring their preferred music to sessions, using it as a dynamic tool for emotional exploration and self-expression. Through lyric analysis, songwriting, or shared listening, we delve into personal experiences in an engaging way. Music facilitates a unique journey of self-discovery, healing, fostering richer connections within oneself and with others.

Liam Quinn

MBACP, MSc, MA

Liam, a certified Pluralistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offers tailored therapy from his office in Dundee's City Center. The option to work online or via telephone is open for all those living in different parts of the UK. With 20 years of experience and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), he is dedicated to working with the unique needs of every individual.

His approach, rooted in pluralism, adapts to your specific preferences, exploring a variety of therapeutic techniques to empower your journey towards the goals set together with each client. Liam provides a safe and supportive environment, addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, with a focus on building a trusting, compassionate partnership for your growth and well-being

On a personal note, I have spent the last decade working in academia and as a community youth worker, overseeing mental health and well-being initiatives. Previous to this, I worked as a conflict resolution facilitator for NGOs in the Middle East and supporting victims of trauma and loss in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Manchester.

I am originally from Ireland (the accent shouldn't be an issue, I've slowed it down after living in England and Scotland for 24 years as back then no one understood me haha) and I'm very passionate about music, growing plants (a recent love and challenge!), breathwork, meditation, books, Etymology and meeting new people. As the quote from Ram Dass goes "we're all just walking each other home" ...  I've always liked that one.

"Liam was very approachable, comfortable with counselling. Very relatable and knowledgeable. I liked how he met me where I was at."
